Guesthouse America Wa is a traveler-friendly guesthouse in Namerikawa, Toyama — a coastal town famous for its glowing firefly squid (hotaruika). In November 2025, a wandering traveler renovated this spacious old Japanese house and opened it as a guesthouse.

The owner, an active traveler born in 2000, graduated from a US university (some English OK!) and has visited about 91% of Japan's 1,747 municipalities. Genuine travel-lover hospitality is what awaits you.

The name blends the “America” of his college years, the city name “Namerikawa,” and the Japanese “Wa” (和 — harmony). Forced together, but somehow it fits ☆
